What You Need To Know About Video Game Systems

February 6th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Yesterday’s forms of entertainment were found in watching television, listening to the radio or watching DVDs. Today’s generation thirst for more. What they perceive to be real entertainment is the ability to interact with other players virtually. This is now made possible with the use of various video game systems.

If you were born in the 80’s, then you probably experienced playing Super Nintendo during your younger years. Street Fighter, Grand Turismo and of course The Super Mario Brothers are just a few of the more familiar games of those times. While today’s youth are hooked on playing their PlayStations, Microsoft X-Box and Nintendo Wii.

What do you think is the main reason why video game systems of today are considered more special than those of the past? Probably the best answer is because they are interactive. With the gaming consoles of the past, the joystick was the only accessory that was used in playing almost all video games of yesterday. Today, video game systems require more than just the joystick that we used to use. New gadgets and accessories are introduced and designed to be used in playing these video games, depending on the gaming console that you prefer. Most of them require the player to not just use his fingers on the joystick. Some video games require the movement of arms and legs in order to play the game properly.

The main advantage of this is that the player is required to move additional muscles and is not just seated the whole day. This is primarily because he is obliged to do various movements with different parts of his body for the sake of playing the video game the proper way. In fact, Nintendo Wii even offers some video games that promote physical activities as well. That way, not only is the player enjoying the game, he is also able to perform some simple exercises while playing.

Video game systems of today are made more interactive, that is why it is very attractive to the younger generation. In fact, even a 4-year old kid can now play certain video games. Graphics wise, these video game systems are incredible in that they are able to portray the characters as if they are real. The creators of these games are brilliant in making them look like a real place or person making these video games more interesting for audiences of almost all generations.

Most of these video game systems are very easy to use. Parents should be cautious with what games their kids are playing by making sure that they are suitable for their age. Certain video games may include violence that can affect the way of life of your child later as he grows up. Of course, these games do not intend to do harm to its audience, but just bring total entertainment for the whole family. Even though these games are created not for the purpose of introducing violence, but mainly for entertainment purposes, still, parents should be responsible enough by controlling which games are appropriate and not appropriate for their children.

Which Console Is The Top One To Buy

December 19th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Sales

If you are basing it on sales alone then it has to be the Wii that gets the prize. However from my opinion (a person who has owned all of the Nintendo Consoles) this has been the worse console that Nintendo have ever made. Why on earth is this?

The major reason why is simply because they do not give a damn about all of the past fans that made them money before the Wii, the majority of new games are aimed at idiots and Nintendo fans rarely see the light of day. with Mario Kart on the Wii that just seemed to take out all of the things that made Double Dash A great game, it has sold because more kids will buy it. As well as this they are copying Mario Galaxy by adding in a few variations to levels in Mario Galaxy 2.

So by that paragraph you can see that the Wii is out of in it my opinion.

Online and other

The PS3 is a good console there is no doubt about that and games such as uncharted 2 show just how far the console can go. Although the online play is all free, it is very poor and it features many games with people unable to speak your language. I do not understan why they did not add language filters? The PS3 has Blu-Ray but it seems that is the only decent thing it has going for it.

The Xbox 360 has the better games, the better online service and just a generally better experience overall. So my recommendation to you is not to get a Wii for the family as it will only be played once. Getting a 360 or a PS3 is wise.

To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.

Goozex Review: Games and Now HD Movies!

December 15th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Where do gamers go?

The choices you have as a gamer are:

  1. Buy (Online, Ebay, used, Gamestop..)
  2. Rent (Gamefly, blockbuster…)
  3. Trade (Goozex, Switchplanet..)

Renting in the past at your brick and mortar rental place can easily set you back more then $5-$7 every week like Blockbuster. There have been other online rental game sites that charge a monthly fee like /month for one game out like Gamefly. Renting is a solution but you spend more time with games than movies. There is a considerable larger amount of time invested in videogames then in movies. Most movies range from 1.5 hours to epics of 6 hours. Where most videogames you could get a good feel for a game in 3 hours but most sports games and long role playing games could be played for more then 70 hours.

This is where Goozex Game Trading steps in. Goozex allows the gamer to keep the game as long as you want but have the option to sell it too. There is only a $1 transaction fee if you request a game on their network. So basically you can trade in your older games and build up Goozex credit until you get enough for a newer title and just pay the $1 transaction fee. All shipping costs are handled by the sender so if you are requesting a game you only pay the and not the shipping and handling. No membership fees so no need to feel you need to use the system. This is ideal in the sense that you could play the game until you are actually sick of it then send it in for credit. So you’re not rushed to get as many games played on the network because you can play at your own pace. Plus you OWN the game. At that point it is yours.

The network is peer to peer in that you can only request games and send games to other members. There is no single central warehouse and the pricing of the credits of the system are in points (100pts = $5). The pricing of the game is determined by market demand, release date, initial cost of the game, and a couple other factors. Most xbox 360 titles will go for 800-1000 pts which translates to $40-$50. This isn’t bad for a used game. Some money can be saved buying used but there is still tax and travel time/cost. Goozex gives you free shipping to you with no tax charge. You can buy games directly but will cost you a premium but then again this money is locked in credits anyways. The game prices will fluctuate and you will see the price change in your history. I’ve had a couple games I requested and I can see that price increase/decrease. It doesn’t happen that much but some games change +/- 200pts depending on market demand.

So why use Goozex instead of a used videogame store or an auction site with games like Ebay? You just need $1 to pay for the transaction fee. Most people don’t like to continually shell out more money for a game and then feel like the games they bought are depreciating at a very fast rate. Selling your game for cash anywhere will not give you that much. Selling it to a store they will mark your game up to make money. Selling online is tiresome. Goozex at least you get to trade in games you are done with and still get some value out of it as it will lead to other games you really want. Older games like madden 2000 will be harder to move due to demand. Older games on ebay are a hassle to sell. You can build your own game list and no insertion fees.

Each videogame is packed with information like reviews from Gamepro, some tips/trick, game description, and some even have instructions. I love being able to see the supply and demand of each game. This will let you know if you have a game people want or if you can possibly get a game on the network. The system chooses who gets paired up. There is a waiting list that is generated and when you add a game you will see in what place you are waiting for that game. You get a good feel to when you will get a game. You need to make a list for want and haves for your games. They will show you your place in line per game. Great place to build your wishlist. Building a large list ensures some games will continue to come to you. I requested Crackdown and I was like 60 people back. Turns out I got the game in less then 2 weeks. Just because you’re really deep in line doesn’t mean you won’t get the game soon. Newer games do get pushed out in the system fairly quickly. You have the option of trading just the game, the game with instructions, or the full package that includes case and instructions. This is helpful as some gamers tend to lose instructions and/or cases. The value of the game doesn’t go down as the credits don’t reflect what is included. This is because the user requesting the game can have the option to request only full packaged games, games with instructions, or just the game itself. I have not had a problem with getting full packages as I’ve gotten over 49 games and I’ve sent out 54 in under 2 years of being there.

Why NOT to use

For this site to be a perfect 5 star site I would like to see:

1. More users (will there ever be enough?)
2. More retro gaming console support (nes, snes, saturn….)
3. Sure isn’t free but man it’s 4 quarters. I’m a member of another site that has no transaction fees yet still protects the members.
4. Sneak peak video game trailers
5. More community interaction (user reviews, recommendations…)

All the above are small tweaks to the system that is already very functional. The main reason someone would NOT want to use this system is time and money. If you have money why wouldn’t you just buy the game new down the street? Why wait? Saving money and the community are the main draws to the system. If your not interested in connecting with other gamers and plan to play all your games alone then the only reason to use the system is money. If you wanted to save money but are impatient then this sits is NOT for you. I’ve experienced about 1-2 month turn around time for new games. Why? You are placed on a Que. The order of the Que determines when you get the new game, but more importantly is how many are available? Most will eventually get bored of their new game and will send them out as “have” games. That could be more time than one might want to wait. Say you want to play a game that takes a long time to beat. Some people like myself take a long time with games. Seasonal games with many updates like Madden will hit the system quick but it’s also a bad thing. If you hold a game too long it will depreciate in value just like on the streets. Trading for early on might be for 1000 points but in a couple months with the market being saturated it could be 500 points in no time losing half of it’s value. Not Goozex’s fault but some games just don’t move well.

Current Goozex Simultaneous Transaction on the Network as of Mar 11, 2009 = 4793

Xbox 360 Troubleshooting:The Facts

December 12th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Definitely, the Xbox 360 is one of the finest games consoles  offered in the gaming market presently. A wide base of titles,  unique graphics and capability to operate with a wireless mode makes  it match with rivals. That being said, nothing in this world is  perfect and the Xbox 360 is no exception. So, if your Xbox 360 does go out of sync, that is when knowing Xbox 360 troubleshooting really comes in  useful.

Xbox 360 troubleshooting is the answer to all of the  possible problems that you may find while  enjoying your Xbox 360.  The 3 primary mistakes the  players normally face are the red ring of death, disc reading  mistakes and overheating consoles.

Amongst the most typical  issues is the appearance of three red lights, generally called  the red ring of death.  It’s really a signal that the Xbox 360 is in difficulty.  However if you come across this issue it is not always easy to  get a ready fix.

In spite of being a forceful and  technically sophisticated device, the Xbox 360 does get overheated through  extended lengths of gaming. When this occurs users are alerted to  the issue through the Xbox 360 overheating sign. Xbox 360 troubleshooting for such a problem can be done by relocating the console in a cooler  location allowing it to ventilate in open air.

Essentially, the  tools that are needed for successful Xbox 360 troubleshooting are a basic understanding of the Xbox 360 machine, and a set of basic electric tools like screwdrivers.

By now, you must have  gained a fair idea about Xbox 360 troubleshooting guides. Fundamentally,  these are tutorials and suggestions often in form of visual or text to help you  uncover and solve problems associated with an Xbox console, available  generally via online sources. The cash back guarantees associated with  these troubleshooting guides make it a worthy investment and a trustworthy answer to basic  Xbox 360 issues.

I’m hoping with the help of the above  Xbox 360 troubleshooting guidelines you will be able to solve basic Xbox problems.  However, in cases of major console failure, it is always recommended  you contact your closest Microsoft helpline.

Xbox 360 Needed More Fans

December 4th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

The great thing about owning all three consoles is knowing which one is the best for a fact, it has to be the Xbox 360 because of the entire experience I recieve from it. Although the Xbox is my fabourite it certainly doesnt mean that the console wasnt released with a few problems, many of which still exist.

I actually still have my original 20GB console which is of course the first to be released and I somehow managed to get mine on month of release as a Christmas presents with two games. Kameo and King Kong were the first two games I received and for the time the graphics were awesome. Kameo is often seen in the bargain bin and King Kong is only bought for the easy achievements that come with it. Then again, nearly all old games seem to devalue over time.

The games are simply brilliant, it seems to be the console that poses a problem. The three rings of death or three red rings is a term that angers many of the Xbox community as it is such a pain in the arse when it happens, if you are not familar with the term it means the console is pretty much broken unless you send it off for repair.

I have done this twice now and although I am still happy with the service I received they haven’t even fixed the problem with the newer consoles. There aren’t enough fans within the console itself so when it overheats it will slowly begin to melt away the soldering on the motherboard which then of course breaks the console. There is a way you can fix the console for a short period of time, wrap it in a wet towel, this will not make it work for long so it is best to get it sent off.

It could be an idea to put more fans into the system? The problem is that it is very loud as it is, putting more fans into it will not help this. All in all it just has to be put up with until the next console is released. The bad repairs has certainly not stopped me from ordering in my new Super Elite containing a nice 250GB hardrive.

It is funny how far ac fans and a few electrical components can go isn’t it?

Cheap but Powerful Xbox 360 Video Game Systems

December 4th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

When it comes down to spending money, people like to spend as little as possible. If you’re the type of gamer that doesn’t need to obsessively purchase the latest games on the day that they arrive in stores or online retailers, then you can save a lot of money while still getting the same great games, albeit a little bit later. If you can wait a few months or even a year or longer, then discount Xbox 360 games will net you some big savings. There are several ways to go about this: renting, buying used, and simply waiting for games to come down in price as the months wear on.

While features like movie and music playback and Internet access have made the Xbox 360 video game system ideal for all home entertainment purposes, its staple source of entertainment is in video games. Some of the biggest titles on the Xbox 360 are listed below, but you must understand that there are literally hundreds more to choose from. RPG fans will delight in the Xbox 360 video game system because they get to choose from the likes of Mass Effect and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Shooter fans will love Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War, while any type of gamer will love Grand Theft Auto IV and Fallout 3. The game library for the Xbox 360 video game system is already very large and complete, but there will be hundreds of additions to it over the years.

You will also get a faceplace, and this removable faceplate comes in a few different stylish colors. There is a headset which will allow you to strategize with teammates or trash talk opponents while playing xbox 360 games on Xbox Live. You even get a Live Silver membership with which you are able to chat with friends online, send and receive voice and text messages, and access new content from Xbox Live Marketplace demos such as trailers and casual games from Xbox Live Arcade.

Walmart

Did you know that Walmart carries the Xbox line, including the Xbox 360 Premium system? If not you do now, and this is one retailer that you are surely going to want to check out for yourself. We all know how great of prices Walmart offers on a regular basis, and the same applies here to the Xbox systems.

The bottom line is that this is a fantastic video game console, one that is definitely worth trying for yourself. Keep in mind that the prices are constantly lowering on the older Xbox 360 pro system as newer versions take their place, and so you can wait even just a few months and the cost will drop dramatically. You do always have the option of buying the game used, but you have to be very cautious if you decide to go this route because you can never really be too sure of the condition of the game if you are buying it used.

Wireless Power Adapter Supply Xbox 360 Network

November 26th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Though all videogame consoles would like to be the entertainment focus of your home, Nintendo’s Wii is marketed towards a more general audience (with which it has been wildly successful) while the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and Sony’s Playstation 3 chase the hard-core action-gaming crowd dominated by male teens and tweens, as reflected by Xbox 360 Accessories like an Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter.  Where hardware is concerned, the Wii is outclassed by both the Xbox and the PS3, but it’s really software that makes a game console successful or not. Thus do Microsoft and Sony’s catalogs appear rather similar, as both are going after the same market with a similar issue of titles providing a similar range of action gaming.

But high numbers allow bragging rights in action-gaming, and it must also be remembered that, in the final analysis, hardware makes software possible.  (Though no one boasts of their Xbox 360 Power Supply.)  And so it is that many find the Xbox 360 and the PS3 fairly similar under the hood, regardless of Sony’s much-promoted “emotion engine” said to render facial expressions so realistically as to make for a much more engrossing gaming experience. Nevertheless, both consoles do have their respective shares of near-rabid fanatics who swear that major differences abound between the two. Yet it’s safe to say that very few would turn down a rival console given as a gift!

The only differences, in fact, involve those truly special features unique to each platform, in addition to the online experiences each one offers. And Microsoft presents a noticeably more varied online experience than that by Sony, whose online service is not bad at all. But the Xbox 360 provides a more extensive experience in that department, though the PS3 does try very hard to make up for it with a built-in Blu-ray DVD player, WiFi web surfing, and support for Bluetooth wireless devices. To which it should be added that NetFlix on-demand is available through the Xbox 360, probably doing away with all the PS3’s multimedia advantages. But the PS3 is extensively moddable by users with the technical interest, while Microsoft rather discourages such hobbyist tinkering under the hood.

Then there’s the matter of prices, with the PS3 selling more going for than the Xbox 360 on account of its slightly longer list of features. Naturally, if you’re a hard-core gamer, prices are probably not going to be all that big a consideration, because purchasing decisions will often be made based on titles exclusive to each platform. Of course, the really hard-core don’t care about prices at all and would just purchase each one!

Project Natal- The Verdict

November 25th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

When I was watching E3 back in May I was very impressed by what Microsoft had to offer. I was getting a bit bored until my favourite director Spielberg walked onto the stage hinting at a new Microsoft gadget.

MIlo was then showed off to the world by British company Lionhead. Somehow the woman playing this demo was able to hold a normal conversation with the boy through the game. A lot of people have said there is no point to a lot of this but to me it seems like the future of gaming.

You are going to be able to use your whole body within the games of Natal. For example you can hold an invisible steering wheel stepping in and out to accelerate and brake respectively. Anything from golf to penalty shootouts can be more realstic thanks to full body control. This could actually be the future of games altogether not just a fancy wavey wand. To make the games unique to each user, Natal can actually scan real life things so that you can use your own football or golf club.

If this is more than just hype then this is going to be huge. On top of this, at the recent Tokyo game show major developers such as Sega and Capcom have both announced their backing of the hardware and this is on top of all the other major developers which include EA, Activison and of course the expected Microsoft Game Studios.

For more information on this amazing new gadget it might be worth checking out a gadget blog.
