Paladin – Bubble Trouble

Since the beginning of the World of Warcraft a Paladin class belonged only to Alliance. With the Burning Crusade, players of the Horde finally got the chance to roll a Paladin class. The only race with the Horde that could role a Paladin is the Blood Elf race while for the Alliance a Paladin could be rolled by Humans, Dwarfs and also the newly introduced race – the Draenei.

A Paladin class is one of the hybrid classes in WoW since they can be tanks, healers or melee damage dealers. This class is really fun to play and you are promised to never get bored since you can change your game play style whenever you like. Pally tanks are famous for their AoE tanking ability, which means that they can tank multiple targets. If you want to try out tanking with your Pally then make sure you assign your talent points to the Protection talent tree. Click here to watch the video: WoW Paladin.

If healing is what interests you then the Holy talent tree will be a good choice. When it comes to Paladin’s healing abilities he is considered to be very skilful healer on single targets# Paladin may not be the best healer but he can still be on top of the healing meter since his heals are fast. A Paladin doesn’t have HoT spells (Healing Over Time) and his healing is mainly based on flash heals therefore his gear needs to be rich in critical strike rating and spell power. Retribution Paladins are pure melee damage dealers. With the Wrath of the Lich King, Retri Palas became popular in PvE as well and are quite often used in raids.

It doesn’t really matter if you play PvP or PvE more, all other players will highly respect you because of your blessings. Blessing of Might is a blessing used by the melee dps classes like feral druids, dps warriors and rogues, and ranged dps like hunters also have a good use from it. A perfect blessing for healers will definitely be the Blessing of Wisdom which will grant any mana user additional mana regeneration while for tanks and basically any class Blessing of Kings would be great since it enhances all of the player’s stats by 10%. BoK is usually the most wanted blessing and all classes, especially tanks will have great use of it. For more information on WoW class guides, read our review: Warcraft Pros Guide Review

When it comes to other spells and abilities, a Paladin can resurrect players who have died and dispel as well. However, these skills have not made a Paladin famous, it is his “bubble” spell that made a Paladin the “undying” class. By using this spell, a Pally can protect himself from any damage like a spell or physical attack coming his way. A Paladin wears plate armor which is the strongest armor in game. However, Paladins need mana for their spells and attacks so their armor greatly differs from the one DKs and Warriors wear since it has spell power, mp5 and intellect.

Crit is also essential for his spells since a Paladin has the ability to gain mana back each time his spell crits. If your style of game play is PvE be assured that as a Paladin you will be welcome in any raid or instance group regardless of your spec. In PvP, with the right kind of gear healing and melee dps Paladins also rule and are highly appreciated.

WoW Paladin Class Guide

October 14th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

In this WoW Paladin Guide you’ll learn about the Paladin and strategies specific to this WoW class.

Paladin: Introduction

In Warcraft the Paladin is the holy knight or holy warrior. In many ways they’re a combination of the Priest and Warrior classes. If you want a flexible play style with aspects of both the Priest and Warrior then this could be the perfect class for you. The Paladin class can be played if you’re one of the following races, Humans, Dwarves, Draenei, and Blood Elves.

I’ll go into some of the Paladin’s strengths later but one thing they’re really good at is combat. Much of this is due to their heavy plate armor that can withstand huge amounts of damage. With massive weapons such as 2 handed maces, axes, swords, and polearms they can dish out absolute distruction to their enemies.

On the other hand they’re great healers, able to heal not only themselves but also their allies not to mention they can resurrect the dead. Along with this their ability to use auras and blessings on allies makes them a fantastic memeber of any group.

Paladin Strengths:

  • Formidable in Battle: Heavy Plate armor and strong self healing.
  • Heals Allies
  • Auras & Blessings: Large bubble provides excellent protection to groups.
  • Can summon Warhorse mount

Paladin Weaknesses & Challenges:

  • Learning the right blessings and Aura for each battle takes time.
  • Mastering your healing abilities can take time.
  • Mana Dependent
  • Limited ability to draw attack

WoW Paladin Guide: The Basics

Spells:

Being secondary spell casters, Paladins are able to cast spells known as Seals. For the 2 minute these last you can increase your ability to cause damage or generate mana. Paladins’ abiliities such as casting spells depend heavily on mana.

Seals can also provide Judgment which can cause more damage or prevent enemies from fleeing.

Auras:

With a bubble of up to 40 yards Auras provide really good buffs to groups.

Blessings:

Blessings are like auras but apply to characters. For the 10 minutes they last you’ll be able to increase attacking power or regenerate mana.

Professions:

In conclusion of this WoW Paladin Guide I’ll give you a quick look at some good profession combinations for the Paladin.

  • Herbalism + Alchemy: Save your mana by using potions for healing instead.
  • Mining with Blacksmithing: Make your armor yourself instead of getting it at the Auction House or through questing.
  • Mining & Engineering: You can make gadgets like grenades which give you more ability for ranged attacks.

WoW Paladin Class Guide

October 8th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

In this World of Warcraft Paladin Guide I’ll show you how to play the three main play styles on this Warcraft class.

There are 3 main roles the Paladin can fill. They are the roles of healer, tank, and DPS. Don’t try doing all these roles or you won’t be good at any one of them, instead find the right balance based on your own play style. If you really like one play style over another then it may be best just to specialize in one role.

Once at level 10 choose which specific talent build you want. The 3 builds we’ll look at in this World of Warcraft Paladin Guide are Tankadin, Retadin, and Healadin. But in case you need to fill a role other than your primary one, make sure you have some talent and gear for all the roles.

For strategies when playing the Paladin check out the World of Warcraft Paladin Guide

Paladin guide- Specialties

Tankadin- Tank Paladin

Tankadins are the tanks in a group. Tankadins are formidable in battle due to their ability to inflict Holy Damage and from being hit. Tankadins are better than other tanks when it comes to taking fast hits but not so good when it come to slow hits.

The Tankadin build has 2 main challenges; one, the abilities have a short time and second you need to manage them really well.

Retadin- Retribution Paladin

Retadins are the build of choice for PvP. Managing +Attack Power and your other gear is one of the main challenges you’ll have here. Your effectiveness will depend on how good you manage all your gear.

When playing the Retadin build remember not to engage in multi combat and don’t use either your potions or auras too soon. Also avoid the fast but low damage weapons and opt for the ones that cause the most damage.

Healadin- The Healer

If you like playing more of a support role in a group then this is a good build for you. The Healadin is the healer role. Healadins, unlike other healers, can take a beating in battle and still heal. But because of time needed to perform the healing spell make sure you choose who to heal and when very carefully. In a 5 man instance choose the tank as they should be the priority. Once the tank is taken care of the priority usually goes AOE DPS, DPS, ect.

Here are heals you have:

  • Holy Shock- This is an Instant heal but it has a high mana cost and takes a long to cool down.
  • Flash of Light- This spell is fast but on the down side it doesn’t heal very well.
  • Holy Light- Heals better than Flash of Light but takes longer.
  • Lay of Hands- Varies in time and healing

Why Play a WoW Paladin

September 18th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Probabaly the most popular class in WoW is the Paladin. They are like a powerful warrior mixed in with a Priest. Because of their excellent healing abilities and their ability to wear plate armor, they are the hardest class to kill. If you’re new to WoW, you should go for a Paladin - they are just so hard to kill.

The fastest way to build the best Paladin is with good guidance. Read my review of the best Paladin leveling guide here: Zygor Guide Review

If you do choose to play a Paladin you have to abide by a strict morale code all the way through the game. A Paladin who commits an evil act knowingly will lose all their Holy Light healing abilties until they make amends - all your magic basically. this strict roleplaying rule can be restrictive, but it is also fun to play, and you are respected by others for it.

Depending on how you grow your Paladin through the levels, you can build a truly powerful battle tank of destruction. You have two choices really: that of creating the perfect tank, that is metal-clad and hard to even scratch, or Paladins can be built into very damaging offensive battle-tanks.

Either way, Paladins also work on their Holy Light magic skills to build themselves up. No other class can get as tough as a Paladin when they are properly bufferd by lots of their own magic - some of the Paladin’s healing spells are the very best in the game for the amount of mana they cost. If they have any weaknesses at all, it’s that their magic side can be easily silenced, dispelled or interrrupted. But even then, a Paladin who is without magic for a few seconds is still a very strong fighter.

You can read a more indepth guide to Paladins here: About Paladins in WoW

As you start to move up through the levels, you can take your Paladin down any one fo the three leveling paths they have: Holy Light, Protection and Retribution. Each and every Paladin really needs to put some attention into the Holy tree, for their spells and healing.

Whereas then you can choose between the Protection tree and the retribution tree: retribution is to focus on dealing heavy damage. It also has a few good defensive skills - parry for example. These Paladins wield 2-handed swords and wreak terrible damage on their enemies.

The protection tree is the best for creating a Paladin that is a real protector of other characters - therefore better for PvP questing. A Protection Paladin is very hard to damage, with plenty of defensive abilities. Protection Paladins are the best tanks in WoW - the guys who occupy the enemy in combat while his friends stay at a safe distance and attack with spells and arrows.
