Mining In World of Warcraft - Starter Guide

February 24th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

There are three gatherer profession in WoW: Herbalism, Skinning, and Mining; if you choose Mining, you’ll do it it in many resources nodes that can be found throughout the world. By mining at specific nodes, you can acquire stones, minerals, and ores; these raw materials are needed by others who take Jewelcrafting, Blacksmithing, or Engineering as ingredients to create various useful items.

The market always hungry for raw materials to fulfill their recipes requirements, thus make Mining a great gold making profession; in this case, a miner who utilize the right World of Warcraft Mining Guide will earn a lot more than the one who just mine anything in his sight.

Mining locations are the most important part, but there are few things you should do before you start mining:

First, find a trainer and get trained in mining. There are different trainers for Alliance, Horde, and Neutral. These trainers are divided in three levels:

  1. Regular Mining Trainers; he will teach you from Apprentice to Artisan level (level 300). If you are in Alliance side, Geofram Bouldertoe in The Great Forge is one of the options. For Horde, meet Brek Stonehoof in Lower Rise, Thunder Bluff.
  2. Master; he will teach you the Master Levels (up to level 375). The one for the Alliance section is Fono at Aldor Rise, Shattrath. As for the Horde, it will be Krugosh at Thrallmar, Hellfire Peninsula.
  3. Grand Master; he will be your trainer for Grand Master Levels (up to 450). Look for Grumbol Stoutpick at Valgarde, Howling Fjord for Alliance faction and Brunna Ironaxe at Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra for Horde faction.

Second, buy a mining pick from trade goods, mining supplier, blacksmithing supplier, or engineering supplier. Make sure it is in your inventory when you are going to mining.

Third, if you have extra gold, use it to fund enchanted gear that increase your mining skill. A few tools to consider: Enchanted gloves with +5 to mining skills, enchanted gloves with +5 to all gathering skills, a goblin mining helmet with +5 to mining skills.

Fourth, check your minimap with “find minerals” enable. It will show you various nodes where you can mine raw materials and display color code to show the mining level needed. Red means your mining level is not high enough for that node.

The next is the important part of this World of Warcraft mining guide: Mining Locations

  1. Copper: Azuremyst Isle, Darkshore, Dun Morogh, Durotar, Elwynn Forest, Eversong Woods, Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades.
  2. Tin Ore: Hillsbrad Foothills, Redridge Mountains, The Barrens, Thousand Needles.
  3. Iron Ore, Gold Ore, and Mithil Ore: Arathi Highlands, Stranglethorn Vale, Badlands, Desolace, Stranglethorn Vale, Tanaris, The Hinterlands.
  4. Dark Iron Ore: Burning Steppes, Searing Gorge.
  5. Truesilver Ore: Tanaris, The Hinterlands, Winterspring.
  6. Thorium Ore: Silithus, Un’Goro Crater, Winterspring, Eastern Plaguelands.
  7. Fel Iron Ore: Hellfire Peninsula, Zangamarsh.
  8. Adamantine Ore and Fel Iron Ore: Blade’s Edge Mountains, Nagrand, Netherstorm, Shadowmoon Valley.
  9. Cobalt Ore: Borean Tundra, Dragonblight, Howling Fjord, Zul’Drak.
  10. Saronite Ore: Icecrown, Sholazar Basin,The Storm Peaks.

Note that when moving from nodes to nodes, you can always design your path to pass profitable farming spots for even more gold, read about farming and the best locations at gold farming guide.

Being a miner can earn you adequate amount of gold on regular basis because the market will always hungry for ingredients and raw materials while there are only a bunch of players who take Mining as their profession. Just remember to mix it with other gold making methods; learn about all of them at WoW gold making guide.

I hope by the time you finish reading this World of Warcraft mining guide, you already made up your mind on the mining locations and have better picture on Mining profession. For the best source on mining and gold making in general, read Gold Secrets Review.

The Guide to WoW Mining

October 7th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

The most useful money-making profession in WoW is Mining. It’s a very reliable money-making skill as all around Azeroth you can find veins of ore to mine and sell the ores, stones, gems and minerals you find.

Not only do you dig up the raw ores with Mining, you can also smelt them into metal bars for Blacksmiths, Jewelcrafters and Engineers to use. If you learn Mining and one of these other professions you have an excellent combination.

It takes some time to reach the highest Mining level - 450 - but it is well worth the trip because you can dig up such valuable metals when you reach that level. Here is the very rapidest route to level 450 in Mining:

All races start in different areas, but we’ll just look at the mining-masters Dwarves for now (also Gnomes who begin in the same area). You can read the first few Mining levels for each individual race here: Mining Leveling Guide. Firstly, find the Mining trainer in town and get him to tach you Apprentise Mining, then begin mining copper around Durotar and Dun Morogh until level 30. Smelt the copper ores and save them for later.

When you get to level 65 become a Journeyman in Mining. Mine around the Thousand Needles and the Redridge Mountains, you want to search for tin. Smelt the tin and combine it with the copper bars to get bronze bars. This will level you fast to around 95.

Next, yo uwant to find and smelt silver bars until 125. Do this around the Arathi Highland and the Thousand Needles. At level 125 you can become Expert Mining. When you reach level 155 and can smelt gold bars, the quickest thign to do now is to just buy gold ore and turn it into bars to get to level 175. You can always sell these bars to afford the ore.

At 225 you are Expert in Mining. Now you wnat to continue your Mining around Tanaris and the Hinterlands. By the time you reach level 230 you can smelt Trusilver Ore and use it to jump up tp 245.

Next we want to start mining in Winterspring. Train in smelting Thorium Bars, the mine and smelt a lot of them. The Eastern Plaguelands have lots of Thorium. Then mine Fel Ore around the Hellfire Peninsula until level 325. And from there you can mine Adamandite Ore around Nagrand to reach level 350.

The last few levels to reach 450 are here: WoW Mining Guide
