Hi and welcome to this WoW guide about the most efficient Shaman build to ding 80 with your WoW Shaman in no time. I think this article really be really helpful for a lot of you guys. After browsing blogs and forums I found this one questions a lot of times: C an you use the Elemental talent build to level quickly or it the Enhancement spec is only way.

From my point of view there’s an obvious answer to this problem: Before you hit level 60 you are more or less forced to play with the Enhancement build to be effective. At level 60 and beyond you have the option to choose between both talent builds as they will now be equally effective and viable for quick leveling.

Why can’t you use the Elemental build to level quickly if you are below level 60? This one is not about talents or abilities or skills. It’s all about the gear. You already know that you need to key factory in order to fly through the levels: The right talent build is important but it’s necessary to build a strong basis with the right stats.

And here’s the problem: Elemental Shamans need spellcaster gear that is more than rare in the old world. You need spellcaster stats: Spell critical hit rating, haste and lots of spell damage. But all this is rare and you will hardly find any useful items except from a few drops in instances.

The only way to get your hands on the few useful items is to visit dungeons and hope the one critical item will drop on the first run. And even with those items you will only level as fast as an Enhancement Shaman but not faster.

But once you are finally able to enter the Outlands everything changes for the better. You will find a lot of great caster equipment immediately - the firsts few quests alone should be enough to completely equip your Elemental Shaman. Once you hit level 60 the Elemental leveling spec becomes at least as efficient as the Enhancement build. Choose which ever talent build suits you: Elemental or Enhancement, they are not equally efficient.

Top Three Strategies On Leveling A WoW Shaman

September 1st, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in copy playstation games

Want to know how to get to level 80 with your WoW Shaman and avoid all the boring frustration that comes with leveling a toon in WoW? Take a look at my Shaman Leveling overview and you will know how to increase your leveling speed and power and have more fun when playing WoW.

Shaman Leveling Tip 1:

Do not even think about choosing the Elemental talent build before you hit at least level 60!! Let me say it again to make it perfectly clear. The Elemental build is not for characters below level 60.

You will not be able to find enough good equipment in the old world to equip your character. If you are thinking about visiting instances to get fine blue caster items… Yes you can do that, but visiting instances will waste more time than you can save with any leveling talent build.

That’s why I highly recommend you to go with the Enhancement leveling spec until you get to level 60 and travel to the outlands. Once you are there you are free to choose whatever build you like, but Enhancement is still a very good build.

Shaman Leveling Tip 2:

Doing quests on your own is the fastest way to level up. If you want to have the best xp/hour rate you have to skip grinding, visiting instances or playing in a party. You want to ding 80 as soon as you can? Get the Enhancement build and start to complete quests on your own.

Shaman Leveling Tip 3:

Click here to get a leveling guide. Those add-ons provide you with the perfect questing path. As I’ve already said, questing is the fastest way to level up. And a perfect questing path is simply the best, fastest, easiest way to complete quests.

The addon will show you exactly where to go, which quest to do and which quest to avoid. Yes, there are quests that intentionally waste your time so you have to play longer, but a leveling guide will eliminate those time-wasters for you!

Shaman Leveling Guide

Leveling your shaman is very fun. As you start out it can be quite tough, but you will get many abilities that will more than make up for this. Ancestrall Recall gives you an additional hearthstone to get around quickly. If you happen to die you will get reincarnation which allows you to revive without running back to your corpse. Another nifty ability is the ghost wolf form which increases your movement speed by 30%.

Later on you will get even more abilities that will turn you into one of the strongest soloers at that point. These are heroism/bloodlust (name depends on the faction) which give you a 40% melee and casting speed buff for 45 seconds. Another great boon are the elementals, being fire and earth, that you can summon to temporarily fight your enemies.

If you’re more interested in finding some top-notch guides for increasing your Shaman’s productivity in game I suggest you have a look at my Best WoW Guide Page. In that section I cover my favorite World of Warcraft guides to help you bolster your character.

Anyway let’s get into the talent builds. Due to its horrible damage restoration is not a tree to level with. For dungeon crawlers you may wish to go restoration as it helps your healing, but you could easily queue up for instances as DPS and enjoy leveling fast solo while dealing damage in groups. Right, now to get into both enhancement and elemental. Personally I’m not a big fan of elemental, at least not until outland/northrend. Unfortunately Blizzard didn’t make items for non clother-wearers very plentiful if you’re a caster making it hard to have good enough gear to not make your leveling a drag as elemental.

So let us move onto enhancement then, and the core of this guide.

As an enhancement shaman you will find yourself smashing through mobs with your powerful weapon enchants in combination with your ability to weave in spells. I personally prefer this build:

One thing to mention is that your melee damage is pretty poor at the lower levels. A good benchmark is going elemental first to make up for this and play as a caster early on. At that point you can respec to enhancement for shamanistic focus as this is a huge talent and starts the trend of building all the way to the bottom of the tree.

As you can see once you hit level 20 is where the enhancement tree really becomes a powerhouse. One tier higher you already get flurry which significantly increases your melee damage. Especially once you get windfury weapon at level 30 you will find this wonderful. After that you will find a couple of great talents that either reduce incoming damage significantly or further improve your damage.

Once you hit level 40 you may be wondering whether you’re still playing a shaman. You will finally be able to dual wield and pick up storm strike at 41. This is where you will find your damage improving by ridiculous amounts and you will really get a feel of how your enhancement shaman is supposed to be played.

Further into the tree you will find more useful talents. Such as improved stormstrike to keep your mana up and lava lash to give you yet another attack. On top of this you get Shamanistic Rage which reduces damage taken while allowing melee attacks to restore mana to the point where you will never have mana problems again.

And we’ve already come to the final 2 talents of the tree of which Maelstrom Weapon finally turns you into the melee-caster hybrid. It reduces cast time for every charge on you to the point where spells become instant cast. Not only will this increase your leveling speed it also makes your shaman a lot more dynamic in regards to playstyle. Lastly you will get your feral spirits. These not only deal significant damage they also have useful abilities and heal you for the damage they deal. This talent allows you to solo most group quests.Remember the Heroism/Bloodlust and Elemental totems mentioned before? Now combine these with the feral spirits.

After you get all this you can move back to the elemental tree and pick up some nifty goodies there, such as increased spell damage or the always lovely Elemental Devastation which increases your melee crit by a whopping 9% whenever one of your spells crits.

Shamans may not start out as great levelers but later on they are arguably the best. Thanks to the bursty effects like windfury weapon, earth shock and lightning bolt you will not only burn through monsters, you will also play one of the more interesting classes, as you always have to pay attention to maelstrom weapon to use up the charges as soon as possible.

If you’re totally entranced by this guide in regards to leveling your shaman, as I was when I leveled my shaman, you may want to have a look at my Zygors Guide Review. In it I cover all the aspects of this leveling guide as I’m sure you would love to breeze through the levels with this new found addiction of a class.
