Combining alchemy and herbalism together will get you great results. Just use the alchemy profession to create potions from the herbs that you collect with the herbalism profession.

2 more professions that go very well together are skinning and leatherworking. Skinning will provide you with the raw materials you need to make the armor with the leatherworking profession.
