Famous Electric Guitars

Slash and the Gibson Les Paul

There can’t be many people who wouldn’t have loved to become a guitar hero. Standing on stage, head down, legs apart, chopping out a blistering guitar solo so loud that it makes peoples ears bleed. And there are a number of truly great electric guitars that have stood the test of time.

One of the most famous electric guitars is the Fender Stratocaster. Originally designed in 1954 the Fender Stratocaster was the guitar played by the late great Jimi Hendrix amongst others. This is the electric guitar chosen by Pete Townsend of the Who and guitar god Eric Clapton. The Fender Strat is as popular today as it ever was which is understandable as this guitar is truly a design classic.

Another well known and popular electric guitar from Fender is, of course, the Telecaster. This beautifully simple instrument was first introduced as the Broadcaster in late 1949 and has been in continuous production ever since. There are and have been many well known and talented guitarists who like to play Fender Telecasters. Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones is a great lover of Telecasters, generally tuned to an open G chord for that classic Rolling Stones sound.

If we are talking about classic guitars we must of course mention the fantastic Gibson Les Paul. This is another truly great electric guitar, first made back in the 1950s and in continuous production ever since. Jimmy Page, of Led Zeppelin and Yardbirds fame, is just one guitarist who loves the Gibson Les Paul. The sound of this great instrument was heard everywhere in the song ‘Alright Now’ by the band Free, played by the late Paul Kossoff and a modern day player of this great guitar is Slash of Guns’n'Roses fame.

Since I’ve given a mention to two Fenders its only fair that I should talk about two great Gibsons. I could have chosen the great Gibson ES335, a classic electric guitar, popular with many guitar greats, but instead I’ve chosen the exceptional Gibson SG. This fantastic looking electric guitar, with the distinctive double cutaway, was introduced in the early 1960s to compete with the popular Fender Strat. This is the guitar chosen by Angus Young of Australian rock band ACDC. This is also the guitar used by the great Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.

Today there are many great electric guitars, but lots of these are copies of these four iconic models which, for me, are the best there is.

World of Warcraft Gold Guide

3 methods for making gold in World of warcraft are discussed in this WoW Gold Guide.

Grinding, flipping in the Auction House, and certain porfessions are fantastic for making gold.

Grinding:

First let’s look at Grinding, an easy yet often tedious way of making gold. Grinding for gold gets better as you level up, especially after leveling up to level 50. Grinding can actually make you up 50 gold and hour.

Once you’ve leveled to 50 check out Winterfall Village in Winterspring for some good grinding spots.

Making gold here is really straight forward, just grind the many furbolgs you’ll come across.

Everlook Forest is where the Yetis live. They’re good for grinding also because they’re pretty easy to take out.

Once you’ve leveled up to 80 you can find some excellent grinding in the Eastern Plaguelands. There’ll be some good mobs to grind that have a good drop rate.

Flipping, or selling things in the Auction House, is another great way to make gold if you know how. You can do this two way, first you can sell stuff you’ve gathered or you can buy things at the Auction House for a lower price and sell it again at a higher price.

The combination of grinding and then flipping what you get is really good for making gold. Grind mobs that have the higher drop rates and then go over to the Auciton House to flip the stuff you’ve got.

Observing the items that sell and the amount the sell for is the best way to start. Gathering these items in particular will yield better success in the Auction House.

Good timing is often the difference between success and failure in the Auction House. Firstly, wait until there’re lots of other players bidding at the Auciton House. Next, you don’t want to flood the market. This mean don’t put lots of the same item on the market all at once or you’ll get less gold for each one you sell.

Professions:

Among the professions that are really good for making gold are Mining, Skinning and Blacksmithing.

Secrets of Rogue PvP - The Basics of Rogue Strategy

Rogues may be the most hated class in PvP. Why? Because they’re so darn good at taking down opponents, often without their foe even getting a chance to fight back. Still, no class is invulnerable, and understanding your Rogue’s many strengths and few weaknesses will surely make you even more annoying to your player versus player foes. Let’s look at your Rogue’s strengths first.

Rogue PvP Strengths

I’ll say it right out. Rogues are perhaps the most effective and most feared of all PvP classes. Choosing your greatest strength is hard because you have so many of them. If you can learn to execute them properly, your Stunlocks are brutal. Built around a combination of attacks, a well-executed stunlock will leave your opponent helpless, literally standing there in a daze while you slaughter them. Get this right, come up with a good Rogue PvP build, and you’ll be very hard to beat.

Your ability to poison your foes is probably your next greatest strength. Even when your enemies run away, you’ve got options. Use your Crippling Poison to slow them down, and your Mind Numbing Poison to mess up their spell casting. When you put these together with all your Rogue’s other strengths and abilities and it is easy to see why everyone hates you.

Rogue PvP Weaknesses

One big weakness of being a Rogue in large battles is that other players don’t like you very much. Most players have been terminated while left helpless by stunlocks and poison. They will be happy to take you down. This puts a big bullseye on your back, as your opponents will jump at any chance to kill you.

Beyond the fact that everyone hates you, your character’s biggest weakness is the complexity of executing a stunlock. Mess this up, perhaps because a Hunter’s pet is chewing on you, or a Shaman gets an Earthshield up, and you’ll be vulnerable to attack. Beyond that, remember that you have only melee attacks, so if a ranged fighter manages to keep you at a distance, they can tear you up with impunity.

This has been only a quick overview of the PvP Strengths and Weaknesses of your Rogue. While it’s easy to do well in PvP with a Rogue, to become one of the best you’ll need to know more than the basics. You’ll need to have an excellent Rogue PvP build, and a great Rogue strategy.
