WoW Horde Guide

In this WoW Horde Guide I’ll introduce you to the Horde faction and its associated races.

The Horde races are the Blood Elves, Orcs, Tauren, Trolls and Undead. There’re advantages and disadvantages to each of the races so know them before you make your choice.

Warcraft Horde Guide- 5 Races

Blood Elves:

After the destruction of their kingdom in the Third War by the Scourge the High Elves became known as the Blood Elves.

Get the Blood Elf’s mount, Hawstrider, just outside Silvermoon. As far as classes, many Blood Elves happen to belong to the Mage and Warlock class and even the Warrior and Hunter classes.

Orcs:

Orcs have a long tradition as Warriors and this in turn is seen in many of their characteristics. For example their weapon is the axe and they fight with pure brute strength. So if this is your playing style then the Orc may be a good match. Death Knights, Hunters, Rogues, Shamans, Warlocks, and Warriors are the classes available to Orcs. Worgs, large wolves, serve as the Orcs’ mount.

Tauren:

If your play style favors combat, then another great choice is the Tauren. Thats because not only are they incredibly strong but have great stamina in battle.

One really cool ability of Taurens is called War Stomp. This lets them stun their enemies by communicating with spirits and telling them to shake the Earth.

Tauren’s massive size will limit the selection of its mount. One option is the Kodo, a large reptile creature.

Druids, Shamans, Hunters, Warriors, and Death Knights are the classes for Taurens.

Trolls:

The least common race in all of Warcraft are the Trolls. Combat is their main strength like the Orcs. The weapon of choice is the Throwing Spear and in addition they can go into a state known as Berserker which gives them increase speed for attack and allows them to cast spells.

Priests, Rogues, Warriors, Mages, Hunters, and Shamans are the classes available to Trolls. Raptors are what the Trolls use as mounts.

Undead:

Finally the Undead, also known as Forsaken, can belong to the Death Knight, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior classes. The mount for this race is the Skeletal Horse. Two interesting things about the Undead is that they can feed on the flesh of other races to regain their own strength and thier ability to stay under water since they don’t breathe.

Rapid WoW Leveling and Class Quests

World of Warcraft Leveling Guides are designed to get your character to Level 80 as fast as possible. To get you there quickly, they guide your character through a particular sequence of quests that builds experience points extremely fast. But each class has its own unique quests. Is completing class quests compatible with the race to level as fast as possible?

Each World of Warcraft class has attributes, abilities, and quests that make it unique. That’s why you may love playing a Warlock, while I’m big on Hunters, and so on. Even if you could get to Level 80 without developing the unique characteristics of your character, it would take a lot of the fun out of playing.

As you can imagine, it takes a lot of work to integrate the unique quests for each class into any kind of leveling guide. Getting your character’s class quests done while they’re leveling is vital to your character’s success in the end game. And forcing you to figure out how to fit your quests into a generic leveling guide isn’t acceptable. Priest – Shadows and Light

Some people that play World of Warcraft consider priests as the best healing class. However, priests can be good damage dealers too. When you want to make a Priest character you will be able to choose between a certain amount of races. If you role horde the choice of races when it comes to the Priest class will fall on Trolls, Undead and Blood Elves. If you want to make a Priest and be part of the Alliance you can choose between a Draenei, Dwarf, Humand and Night Elf priest. Depending on the race you choose you will have different passive abilities but the choice will surely depend on you and your game play.

Priests are spell casters and whether they are healers damage dealers that need mana in order to cast these spells they will need a good amount of spirit which will make their mana recover a lot faster, intellect which provides the priest with more mana and spell power which makes their spells more efficient. The priest has three talent trees and depending on what kind of priest you want to make you can choose between the Shadow, Discipline and Holy talent trees. The First talent tree I would like to discuss is the Holy talent tree which is designed for priests with a PvE healing aspiration. As a Holy priest you will have different types of spells to choose from, like Renew which is a typical HoT (Heal Over Time) spell, Prayer of Mending which is an instant protective and healing spell, Prayer of Healing which heals the whole party, Circle of Healing which is a typical AoE healing spell and of course, Flash and Greater heals. Shadow Priests are famous for their Shadow form which not only looks interesting it also gives a Shadow Priest more spell power.

Shadow Priests have several damage over time spells like Devouring Plague and Shadow Word Pain which are very effective.Some of the spells the Shadow talent tree will provide the priest with make the priest a valuable team member for every group and raid because they restore mana and hitpoints to fellow players. Priests who are more into the PvP game play will definitely choose the Discipline tree. They are really tough because they have protective spells which make the priest and his allies really hard to kill.

Priests are also famous for their buffs: Power Word Fortitude, Spirit buff and Shadow Protection buff. Next to this they also have many other useful spells like fear, resurrect, shackle, dispel, cure disease and more. What is nice when it comes to resetting agro is the ability to fade but in general a Priest shouldn’t get much agro since he is always in the back whether he is a healer or a damage dealer In case you get a bit high on the threat meter you can always fade which heavily reduces your threat for an amount of time. Priests can only wear cloth armor. They are not high on hit points as other classes are but they definitely have a large mana pool. If you decide to become a Shadow priest you will have to have particular stats on your gear. You will want to get a lot spell power, hit and crit rating, intellect and spirit on your gear.

Healing priests should aim for the same stats but they can leave out the hit rating and take haste rating instead. The most annoying part of a priest is leveling it even though the Shadow talent tree makes it a bit easier. As you hit level 40 and get Shadow Form it will be a lot easier though and once you hit the level cap you can count on many dungeon and raid spots as either a healer or damage dealer.

Shamans – The Ones in Touch With Spirits

In the World of Warcraft, Shamans are a famous class of hybrids. For quite a while this class was only available to the Horde faction while the Alliance had Paladins. With the BC expansion this changed and finally the Alliance players were able to create and level up a Shaman with the new born race - the Draenei.

Similar to Druids, Shamans can choose to become Healers, Caster dpsers or Melee dpsers. Their talent build will depend on a talent tree you choose – Enhancement, Elemental or Restoration. If you would like to build up a typical caster dps then the Elemental build is ideal for you. Similar to Mages or Locks, an Elemental Shaman has really strong casting spells and with the combination of the right gear and skills, he can easily reach the top of the damage meter and therefore his gear needs a lot of crit, hit, haste and spell power. If your choice falls on a melee dps, than the right talent tree for you would definitely be the Enhancement tree. This kind of build will require a Shaman to wear armor enriched with a lot of Agility. With the points on the right talent, an Enhancement Shaman will get the ability to summon a couple of ghost wolves to assist him with dealing damage or to protect him from the attackers. This spell is very useful, especially in PvP.

A Restoration Shaman is considered to be a great healer. A Shaman has really good single-target healing spells and is also favored in raids because of his ability to heal multiple targets with a Chain Heal. Resto Shaman also has his Earth shield, which he can put on himself or any other friendly target in order to protect them from damage. The most important thing when it comes to gear for a Shaman healer is mp5 (the amount of mana regenerated per 5 seconds.

Shamans are able to wear cloth armor, leather armor and mail armor. While leveling up to some point they will have to wear leather since the ability to wear mail will not be available to them. At the higher levels it is strongly suggested to wear mail since this kind of armor is a lot stronger then leather or cloth. Mail armor made for Shimmies is rich in stats and it has intellect, similar to the armor of a Hunter since Shamans are also mana consumers. If you chooce to level up this class, it is suggested to put all your talent points on the Enhancement talent tree. An Enhancement Shaman doesn’t need as much mana as an Elemental Shaman and therefore he will drink a lot less which of course, will speed up your leveling. Another couple talent points well spent would be in the improved ghost wolf form to enable you to instantly turn into the ghost wolf.

Shamans are fun to play and what made them especially popular in any type of game play is their ability to summon totems. There are four groups of totems divided into elements – Air totems, Fire totems, Water totems and Earth totems. Depending on the build a Shaman chooses their totems will give more benefit to the party members. Only one totem can be used per type of element, so a total of four totems can be active at the time.

In general, Shamans are a very curious hybrid class and they are fun to level up and play since they can change their build as they please and when needed. With many options to choose from when it comes to Shamans, rest assured you will fall in love with this class and never get bored.

WoW Skinning Guide

Skinning, as you can imagine, allows you to skin the hides of beasts you’ve killed and use them in Leatherworking and even in Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Tailoring. In this WoW Skinning Guide I’ll introduce this primary profession.

Skinning is a fantastic gathering profession which allows you not only to skin what you’ve killed but also what’s been left behind by others. To get started, find a trainer, which are usually near leatherworkers. If you can’t find the trainer you can always ask a guard to show you the way. WoW Skinning Guide: List of skinning ranks and their associated skill levels.

  • Apprentice: Levels 1-75
  • Journeyman: Levels 50-150
  • Expert: Levels 125-225
  • Artisan: Levels 200-300
  • Master: Levels 300-375

Some secondary professions are better than others when it comes to Skinning. For instance pairing skinning with another gathering profession can be a very profitable strategy. The best profession for obvious reason would probably be Leatherworking. Alchemy and some other profession don’t go well with skinning at all.

Its important to know that not everything you find or kill can be skinned. If you want to know if something is in fact skinnable just hover over it. The first thing you must do before skinning anything is to make sure it’s been completely looted. As far as skinning things that have been killed by others, just make sure they’ve left the corpse before you jump in to skin it.

Hovering over the dead beast will show you a particular color code if it’s something that can be skinned. The color will reveal not only whether your skill level is high enough to skin it but also whether or not it will help you level up even more. The following list reveal what these various color codes actually tell you.

  • Red: At your current skill level these cannot be skinned.
  • Orange: This means it’ll be hard for you to skin, but if you manage to do it, it’ll probably increase your skill level.
  • Yellow: These are moderately difficult to skin with a moderate chance of helping you level up your skill.
  • Green: Although these are easy to skin they also probably won’t help you level up your profession.
  • Gray: These are easy to skin but won’t help you level up skinning at all.

Rogue – The Shadowy Figure

Rogues can be chosen by players as their character in the World of Warcraft. While wielding melee weapons a Rogue can deal massive amounts of damage with special attacks and other moves. The Rogue’s attacks are usually made by spending an amount of Energy. The Rogue has an Energy bar under his hit points bar which keeps track of the amount of Energy the Rogue has at the moment. A Rogue can have a maximum of 100 Energy even though there is a talent which increases this.

A Rogue can be chosen by Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf and Human players from the Alliance side and by Troll, Orc, Undead and Blood Elf players of the Horde side. A Rogue is commonly known for his skills to ‘gank’ other players, which basically means killing players of the other factions on either the battlegrounds or in the arena’s or in PvP areas. Because the Rogues can go stealth they can usually make a first move which gives them an edge in combat. When they are in stealth they have several abilities available to them and once they make an attack they get out of stealth and have even more abilities to do loads of damage. The Rogue’s attacks usually award him with combo points which are applied on their target. In total you can place five combo points on a target. The combo points have use because the Rogue also has finishing moves that are stronger if more combo points are applied on the target. If you have 5 combo points on a target you will deal more damage or stun longer in example, than when a target only has one combo point on it.

There are some classes that can deal damage and heal or even tank, Rogues however, are a pure DPS class and can’t heal or tank. When you do decide to play a Rogue however you can top damage meters with a bit of dedications. If you want to be one of the major damage dealers in your guild it is possible. This means that you must know all the attacks, good talent trees, the best attack rotations, which gear you should chase, which professions you should level and more. To begin with it is good to know which talent trees are good for which purposes and which talents should be chosen and which can be skipped. The Combat tree is usually used for leveling. As a combat specced Rogue you will have an easier time leveling because you will get a decent amount of survivability while you will get several strikes like Ghost Strike that will increase your damage output. With a decent amount of Dodge and Parry rating, an increased amount of damage from the offhand which normally does 50% of the normal weapon damage, a higher hit percentage and a lot of other useful talents you will find leveling an easy journey.

Once you hit your level cap you and want to play PvE, the Assasination tree is great for you. The Assassination tree specializes in Backstab and other powerful attacks. If you have an enemy that is turned towards the tank however, you can attack the target from behind and spam your attacks to make amazing amounts of damage. The Subtlety talent tree is usually picked by players that enjoy PvP. Because you will become quite tough, harder to detect while stealthed and be able to do nice amounts of damage in a short period of time, this build is nice against enemy players. Because you will want to do damage for longer fights in PvE this talent tree is really meant for PvP players.
